There are many reasons why we limit or eliminate various types of food products, such as meat, dairy, gluten, and sugar. It’s not always easy. My two dietary changes were over ten years ago when I eliminated meat and animal products, and towards the end of the pandemic, I started dealing with overweight issues. Since then, I’ve lost 15 kilograms without losing the pleasure of eating.
The current economic situation may also force us to make changes in our eating habits. Regardless of the changes you want to make and why, you can make it easier with a few simple tricks, which summarize my experiences.
1. Set a goal
It starts almost like some motivational guide, but it’s crucial to answer and write down (preferably) your goal — how you want to change your eating habits and why. What do you want to achieve? Lose weight, feel better, brag about your diet, impress someone on the beach… anything you want.
I eliminated meat and animal products because I didn’t want to cause suffering. I changed my eating habits after the pandemic primarily for health and fitness reasons. Spending up to 10 hours a day on my feet at work, carrying extra weight, especially after 50, is tough on the knees.
